Different Vision with action can change the world and that is what MANTHAN gives you “A DIFFERENT VISION”. A vision to observe things differently, so that we can have a fiction of different world. And with this urge to change the world, India’s largest street play festival MANTHAN has been on its ardour since last 23 days with performances in around 25+ cities of India till now. Organised by VERVE – The street play society of Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, University of Delhi Manthan’17 started with Manthan Mahotsav दस-तक with planned performances in 10 cities of India including Delhi at the same time on 4th of march including Bhopal where Yuva Shakti theatre group performed their play “BADLAAV – Samay ki Pukaar”, Manesar where Dramebaaz performed “Aakrosh”. in Chandigarh, Awaaj performed “Bezuban Ki Kahani Unhi Ki Zubani”. Ek Sath Rang Mandal summon up the people of Gandhi nagar with their play “Jaago Bandhu Jaago Bhaiya. Young thespians performed their play “Hum or Humara Samvidhan” in Solan, Ashwini art academy played “Nasha hai Abhishaap” in Janipura, “Padh k Ganvaar” by zealous production in Banglore, streets of Bhubaneshawar got to know about the humanity in today’s time by the play “Insaniyat Biki Kaudiyo ke Bhaav” performed by Kartavya, Ahemdabad where Vangaurd theatre performed their play “Her Body Her Rights” and the major one Delhi with 32 performances at the same time on 15 prime locations like Dilli Haat INA, Nehru place, Green park, Jantar mantar, Vishwavidyala Metro Station, Sparks mall, M2K Rohini etc. A street play is not just meant for entertainment, a street play artist feels the stories of ignored people, sees the unheeded situations, sees the unseen time and that is what we want you to feel, only then there will be the change in the mindset of people, change in the thinking, change in the society.

This journey of change is unstoppable, Manthan’17 went to Lucknow where Dracula – The Dramatics Society performed their play “Be a Man” at Shree Ramswaroop College of Engineering and Management on 6th of march. On 7th of March Manthan’17 was welcomed by Ghaziabad where Unwaan Street Play Group from Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology performed “Satyamev Jayte – Media ka Khel” at Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology and Management College, simultaneously Chhattisgarh got to know about LGBT by the play “LGBTQ Rights and and Khaap Panchayat” played by Bol – The Theatre Group of Bhilai Institute of Technology, on the same day in delhi one more initiative of taking Mathan to schools became successful where Natuve – The theatre society of Shaheed Bhagat Singh college performed their play “Thoda dard hi sahi” awaring those children about sexual abuse. On 8th of March Manthan’17 reached to Mumbai where WTF – We The Future from Amity University, Mumbai performed their nukkad based on Media Objectification at Vashi Station,Mumbai. The endless van of Manthan again went to Lucknow on 9th of March  Abhinay: The Purity of Expressions from Babu Banarasi Das National Institute of Technology & Management, Lucknow performed their Nukkad based on ‘Brain Drain’ at Ram Manohar Lohiya Hospital. In Hamirpur, people got to know about the creation of Fake Nationalism, there was also an issue which may sound trivial but very important “cleanliness” was raised in Indore. Not stopping Manthan went to Bhatinda where Venus Art Theatre from Baba Farid College, Bathinda performed their play titled ‘भगौडे़’ (Bhagaude). In Hyderabad, the issue of suicide of farmers raised by Team Chaap from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad.In Chandigarh, Dramebaaz from Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology performed their play titled ‘Gumnaam’. The play talks about respecting the lower working classes in the country. “Akhir Hum Bhi Insaan Hai” was performed by vismaa group in Karnal where they talked about the behaviour towards physically disabled people. This endless journey of Manthan is not just revolving in India, We also went internationally. In Nigeria, Film Making Awesomeness performed a play on physical disability. In Nepal “Naya Nepal” was performed by Achel Natya Samuh raising the issue of political issues in the country. The play performed in Brazil talked about the shackles of capitalism and how it has corrupted the daily lives of Brazilian and it was performed by Zecas Coletivo de Teatro in Belém, Brazil. And this will be continued till the skyline.

This is a way to make people realise that enthusiasm to change the world can do miracles, each one of us own immense power ,each one of us is a magnate, who can bring revolutions.
