The web-based (https://interviewbuddy.in) learning environment is a great way that connects industry experts with job seekers to learn, prepare and practice interviewing in a real-time simulated environment.
Founded by Ujwal Surampalli – a student entrepreneur pursuing his masters in HSRW, Germany, InterviewBuddy™ addresses a problem that every job seeker face: how can I make a splash in the interview? The dilemma is heightened by the fact that usually a student only gets a single chance in an interview. What if there was a credible way to practice the interview with seasoned professionals before facing the real thing? With InterviewBuddy™, job seekers can practice interviewing face-to-face, anywhere, anytime and on-demand with curated industry experts.He or she gains confidence and reduces stress and anxiety before facing their real job interview. A constructive feedback with skill gap assessment provides the job seeker areas on which he has to work on to improve the chances to ace through the interview.
InterviewBuddy™ team in action!
InterviewBuddy™ is a cloud-based solution that is available everywhere there is an internet connection, a computer with a webcam. The solution works out of your web browser, and there is no need to download or install any software. The interview is automatically scheduled based on the available slots that interviewer and interviewee choose. The final interview recording and assessment report are available on the cloud for ready reference.
Interview Buddy started with offering it services to individuals (B2C platform) and soon will be launching its B2B platform for corporates – to help them assess and interview potential employees, and B2B platform for Recruitment firms – to assist in sourcing right candidates and providing correct information to their clients.
Interview Buddy was selected for the NASSCOM 10,000 Startups warehouse program – one of the largest incubation programs in India, and has received funding from Alcove Partners, a Vizag – based angel investment group. Recently, it was recognized as a startup by the Government of India Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP).
InterviewBuddy™ was the finalist at the RISE conference Hong Kong (July 11-13 2017), selected to pitch from 18000+ startups across the globe. InterviewBuddy™ was also the only start-up finalist from Southern India at The Next Web (TNW) Summit, Amsterdam, Netherlands May 18-19 2017.
InterviewBuddy™ was awarded the Bronze Medal at the International Innovation Fair, organized by the Indian Innovators’ Association and AP Innovation Society. IT Minister Sri Nara Lokesh and MP Sri K. HariBabu handed over the prize to Founder Ujwal Surampalli, age 24 years.
InterviewBuddy™ estimates to be a USD 3 million in a year from the date of launch, and eventually intends to grow to be a USD 10 million company in 5 years, and will be employing about 250 resources (100 direct resources and about 150 indirect resources – operations, interviewers, call center support and help desk, technical development and support) in the next 2-3 years to meet the demand for its services.
The company has also been selected by the Andhra Pradesh Government, India for its massive Skill Development initiative. On the B2B front, it is developing custom based intelligent video recruitment solutions to potential corporate clients.
